Delighting Customers

"Send in the Clowns" was one of the activities during our Customer Service Training held at Welcare Hospital Conference Room yesterday. It was real fun, it's all about giving your customers what they want, when, where, & how they want it! And giving them more than they expected... as they say "Go beyond the extra mile to attain total customer satisfaction".

The Move to DUBAI

I'm still overwhelmed with the feeling of disbelief that I'm on my way to DUBAI, UAE. So engrossed with the thought of leaving my daughter that I wasn't able to take pictures in the plane and at the airport. I journeyed alone but I met some friends in the plane. Ate Nancy and her daughter Gurlaine (she's such a pretty and smart girl, about Jam's age). Ate Nancy is married to an English guy but they are living in France. They are just stopping over Dubai for 2 hours then have their connecting flight to France. They're both very nice (especially Gurlaine, she's very talkative & witty sunggo kaayo ko sa iyang accent hehehe. We had exchanged numbers and emails so we'll surely keep in touch. When it's time to say goodbye, Gurlaine told me not to forget about her, I surely won't forget her (esp. her smile!). Hope to see both of them in the future.

By the way, the whole almost 9 hours of travel was very unpleasant for me, I couldn't sleep & I couldn't even watch a movie because I was very worried. The weather was bad and we encountered so much air turbulence that the plane shook & rattled most of the time. You can imagine my relief when we finally landed@ Dubai International Airport @ 5 o'clock in the morning.

Wheeew! What an experience...

Saying goodbye was all too painful...

No words can ever explain how much loneliness I felt when it was time to say goodbye to JAMJAM. I didn't cry infront of her but I cried like a baby when I was in the plane going to Manila. I didn't care if there were people staring at me with worried look on their faces. This is the second time I'm going to be away from my daughter (the first was when I left for Taiwan in 2002). I know it's also hard for my baby, but I'm so glad she's grown up enough to understand the reason for my leaving. I'm so blessed to have a smart and kind daughter like her. JAM you're more than special and I love you so very much!

Here are some of the pictures we took @ People's Park, Davao City a day before my flight. Enjoy!

Good Friday

Although I didn't eat anything last night, I was not a bit hungry when I woke up this morning. Anyway I still had my breakfast but I didn't eat any meat.

Today I'm so happy coz I chatted with my family, and my mama angel's there (she's not frequently home you know :-)...). I miss them all so much, and I thank God eternally for keeping them safe and happy always.

I have my off from work today and tomorrow, but I don't think I'd be going out. I haven't seen most of Dubai yet but Welcare HR Department is planning a Dubai Tour for the new employees, so I'll keep you guys updated with my Dubai exploration.

Have a blessed lenten season!!!

Maundy Thursday

Last year, I remembered I just stayed home with my family, and our home was filled with the solemnity of the lenten season. But this year I was working on Maundy Thursday, so I offered all my tiredness to God, my way of penance. When I get home , I just freshened up a bit, said a little prayer, and went to sleep early. I didn't eat dinner -- yeayyy -- fasting to the highest level :-D...

Pediatrics Princesses

This gorgeous woman with me is Belle, she helped me get through the things I needed to know in the ward. And not only that, she also became a very special friend who's always there to cheer up a gloomy day!

Thanks for your friendship Belle...mmmwahhh!

Welcare Hospital - Pediatric Ward

I always wanted to be around kids, I guess it's the maternal side of me. Kids are fun, active, lively, and sooo cute. But dealing with sick kids are altogether different. Sometimes I feel so sad about their conditions, and at times I get so irritated I just want to scream and leave them alone. Well it also depends with the patients and their significant others. But whatever their attitude is, I always maintain a professional relationship with them. That way I can give them the holistic care they deserve.

Anyway, working as a healthcare assistant is not that hard. These are some of my responsibilities in pediatric ward and NICU:

  • Bedmaking (chambermaid ang feeling hehehe)

  • Giving newspaper (pero di ko naga bike ha!)

  • Checking if equipments (i.e. incubators, IV & Syringe Infusion pumps, refrigerators, etc.) are working

  • Taking vital signs and plotting to chart

  • Feeding premature neonates

  • Responding to patient's call

  • Regulating and discontinuing IV infusions

  • Retrieving medications from pharmacy

  • Maintaining sufficient ward and NICU stocks and supplies

  • Sending specimen to laboratory and follow up results

  • Ensuring that equipments are clean and ready to use

For 3 weeks I'd be on a 5-day/week 10hours/shift duty. My off is on a weekend (Friday & Saturday ilang weekend diri hehehe). Then after that 12 hours per shift na, 4 days a week akong work with day and night rotations.

So long mga frens, I'll just keep you posted. Miss you all!!!

A Day With Agirl

This lady is just awesome (di makaya ang cleavage yooot, hehehe). I couldn't imagine what my day would have been like if she wasn't there to accompany me. She met me at the airport @ around 10 in the morning and we had the entire day for chatting and eating and window shopping.

We roamed around Mall of Asia for the whole day while I was waiting for my flight to Dubai which was scheduled at midnight later that day. And we also went to a church near the mall (so sorry I forgot the name) and we strolled to a nearby "Manila Bay - looking" place (which also unfortunately I forgot the name LOL).

Girl I can't thank you more than enough for being such a great friend. See you next year...luv ya! mmmmmwah!

The Gym

The Gym is situated in the 10th floor, so if you really wanna work out, use the stairs LOL!

The Swimming Pool

Located at the roof top. O di ba bongga, naa pa mi pool chuva hehehe

My Room

Dah pirting hapa-hapa oi hehehe so comfy!!!

Miramar Hotel & Apartment

This will be my home for at least 18 months. Standing high at 10 storeys, this building is equipped with complete amenities such as a Gym where you can work out to trim your body and a swimming pool to relax your tired muscles. It also have a 24-hour security as well as functioning alarm systems so safety is ensured.

I think I'm going to like it here. In fact I feel at home already.
